Treatment in Germany: how hospital admission is arranged

After an online consultation, we can discuss the possibility of further treatment or surgery in Germany. Arranging hospital admission begins with a review of your medical documents and a discussion of treatment options and your wishes.

1. Start with a consultation

Book an online consultation and provide your medical documents and examination results in advance. During the consultation, we will discuss your situation, possible treatment options and whether further examinations or an in-person assessment are needed. The online consultation is paid for separately as a private service. It does not, by itself, mean that surgery or hospital admission has already been arranged.

2. Choosing a hospital and agreeing on treatment

If you would like treatment or surgery in Germany, we will discuss whether this is possible at the hospital where I work. This depends on the medical indications, the hospital’s specialty, available treatment methods and agreement with its specialists.

If the required operation is not performed at my hospital, including certain procedures on the brain, we can discuss approaching another suitable hospital. This is possible only by prior agreement with the receiving hospital. The hospital makes the final decision on admission, treatment and timing after assessing your situation.

3. Who receives payment for treatment

If you are paying for treatment yourself, the costs of examinations, the hospital stay and surgery are agreed directly with the hospital. The contract, invoices and payments for inpatient treatment are handled with the hospital. I do not receive these payments and am not a party to the financial arrangements between the patient and the hospital.

If you have insurance, you must clarify coverage in advance with the hospital and your insurer. Having a German or European insurance policy does not in itself confirm payment for a specific planned treatment.

4. What organisational assistance includes

If you wish, I can help arrange your hospital admission: coordinating contact with the hospital, forwarding agreed medical documents, clarifying possible dates and coordinating the necessary organisational steps. The scope of assistance is determined individually, particularly for patients travelling from other countries.

This coordination is a separate service and incurs an additional fee. After speaking with you and clarifying the actions required, I can propose a price. The scope of the service, fee and payment terms are agreed with you in advance. Organisational assistance begins only with your consent. It is not automatically included in the cost of the online consultation or hospital treatment.

5. For patients living in Germany

If you live in Germany and have health insurance, you can discuss treatment at a hospital of your choice. The possibility of admission and insurance coverage must be clarified directly with that hospital and your insurer.

If you would like me to perform your treatment, contact me beforehand. We will discuss your medical situation, the possibility of my involvement and the timing of admission to the hospital where I work. Such involvement requires prior agreement and cannot be guaranteed solely by booking online.

If you need additional organisational assistance, separate coordination costs may apply. For patients living in Germany, the scope of this assistance is usually smaller, so the fee may be lower. The specific amount is discussed individually and agreed before the service begins.

6. Before travelling or being admitted

It is important to obtain confirmation from the hospital in advance and clarify the planned examinations and treatment, possible dates, costs or insurance coverage. If needed, we will separately agree on organisational assistance and its fee.

The consultation, inpatient treatment and coordination are three separate stages. The consultation is paid for privately to me; treatment is paid for directly to the hospital; the fee for additional organisational assistance is discussed and agreed separately with you.
